Billy Mitchell is a Graduate Assisant at the University of Akron studying trombone performance under Dr. Lauren Rudzinskas. Billy is in the graduate brass quintet, brass choir, trombone choir, and the wind symphony and the University of Akron. Billy received his bachelor’s degree in K-12 instrumental music education from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN studying trombone under Susan K. Smith. While at Austin Peay, Billy performed with the Gateway Chamber Orchestra and the Cumberland Winds and the Cumberland Winds Jazz Project, performing works such as the Duke Ellington Nutcracker suite, Mendelson’s Elijah and The Christmas Wonder Musical.
